Earth Wind and Fire really do produce eternal tunes that last the test of time. Over 25 years later and the bulk of the album is still immensely enjoyable. Powerlight has some excellent trademark EWF tracks but the more Hard Funk edgy track Freedom of choice probably detracts from the rest of the album/5(60).

Many groups lose the steam that propelled them to the top; Earth, Wind & Fire, contemporary sound and all, were still blazing when this album was released."Fall in Love With Me" was the first single. With its festive rhythm and sauntering vocals, it became a number four hit on the Billboard R&B charts and a number 17 pop hit.8/

Powerlight is a classic Earth, Wind & Fire’s album, and even though it doesn’t have the overarching vision of All ‘n’ All or Faces, it boasts some of the sharpest songs of the group’s career.
